Hi! I’m Leigh, the baker, cake decorator, cookie scooper, sprinkle tosser, taste tester, mess maker and cleaner behind Comfort Bakeshop. 

I’ve baked for friends and family for as long as I can remember.  Ever since my husband bought me my first KitchenAid mixer, I haven’t been able to stop baking.

Once upon a time, I worked a very corporate job.  I was the girl who would bring baking to work, especially if it was someone’s birthday.  I just knew that one day, I would pursue my passion for baking and make it my dream job.  

Fast forward to today: I live in beautiful Muskoka with my husband and two children.  I have my own separate, health-inspected baking kitchen where I create edible joy for all occasions, and I supply cookies and other sweets to select locations throughout Muskoka.

More about me:

• Baking is my love language.

• I come from a long line of dessert enthusiasts; having a sweet tooth runs in the family.  My Grandma always had a cookie jar on her counter, and cookies in her freezer.

• My cookbook collection is always expanding. I love cookbooks – the stories, pictures, and effort that went into creating them – everything about them!

• Sprinkles make me really happy.  I have two sprinkle walls in my baking kitchen: one is to showcase my sprinkle collection, and the other is just for me to stare at! 

• The name Comfort Bakeshop came to me many years ago while riding a commuter train home from my corporate job.  

• I keep notes on my phone with my friends and family’s favourite desserts!
